Better use of water resources

Water resources

Water resources for professional uses are:

  • water from public distribution systems, in general drinking water, sometimes industrial water;
  • natural waters, rivers, boreholes, springs;
  • often seen as a constraint, rainwater has become an important part of the resource.

Until a relatively recent past, water management was not a priority. Public drinking water systems had a relatively low cost. Used water was considered as a waste, and the evacuation was free of charge. Today the situation is different. Water is not an inexhaustible resource; it must be managed like other goods. Moreover, it has supply and evacuation cost.
The water law published in the Official Journal of December 31, 2006 (2006-1772) has established a tax covering the costs of water collection. Long-time limited, the use of rainwater has been authorized by the decree of August 21, 2008. It specifies the conditions of the use of rainwater recovered from the downstream of inaccessible roofs, in buildings and their outbuildings, as well as the conditions of installation, maintenance and monitoring of the equipment required for the recovery and use.
AQUAE has been preparing since two years ago for its immediate implementation.

Rain water

Cheap water that covers many needs

Properly filtered and well-stored rainwater is sufficient for the majority of needs except for body and food uses. To consume less drinking water is to allow less stress on the water tables whose levels decrease alarmingly.

A fresh water that provides many benefits

Due to its low limestone content, rainwater is naturally soft. Its use reduces the consumption of detergents, removes the use of softeners and thus allows less discard of phosphate and salt-laden water, which is responsible for the deterioration of water quality and the eutrophication in numerous rivers.

Water retention that regulation requires

This retention obligation aims to limit releases that may saturate the networks, which leads to the installation of storage tanks.

Water for wider use

Long-time limited to external uses, the use of rainwater was extended by the decree of August 21, 2008. It specifies the conditions of the use of rainwater recovered from the downstream of inaccessible roofs, in buildings and their outbuildings, as well as the conditions of installation, maintenance and monitoring of the equipment required for the recovery and use.

The solutions proposed by AQUAE fulfil all obligations of this decree.
